ABOUT

The Sirius Building, transformed by BVN Architecture, is a testament to the blend of heritage preservation and modern design. Originally completed in the late 1970s, this Brutalist icon has been reborn with a fresh, contemporary vision that honours its historic roots while embracing sustainable urban living. Capturing this transformation was a unique opportunity to document the building’s evolution through the lens of architectural photography.

As the photographer, I focused on conveying the architectural nuances that BVN brought to life. My approach emphasised the interplay between the building's original concrete forms and the newly integrated copper facade and green spaces, capturing the way natural light fills the interiors and frames the views of Sydney Harbour. By highlighting these elements, I sought to illustrate how BVN’s design respects the Sirius Building’s past while reimagining it for a new era. This project celebrates a landmark revitalized, merging history with a future-oriented vision of urban living.
